One of the oldest and most repeated reminders to drivers is to NOT use their mobile phones while driving.

Using your mobile for any sort of operation or task – whether it be SMS texting, calling, chatting, or browsing the internet – puts you and any passengers riding with you at great risk. Mobile phone usage temporarily retards you normal reaction times while driving, which is only normal since you’re not giving the road all of your attention. It’s very easy to overlook an obstacle on the road when you’re switching looking at your cellphone screen and the road. The danger is even worse at night – divided attention plus the darkness is a really bad combination.
If you must, just pull over a bit before you talk or text. It’s much safer that way.
