Insurance companies do random checks on your driving records when you get Auto insurance and though these traffic infractions rarely get noticed, the big if it does comes into play. If an insurance agent finds you having more than their allows points in terms of traffic stops violations and other infractions with respect to the act of driving, you might be asked to pay more for your insurance than those regular folks. Sure, everybody does it and celebrities get off the hook without a hitch but they have high-caliber lawyers who are on-call 24-hours a day that get multi-figure salaries and you don’t. Remember, every tick on your violation score card has the capability of sending your premiums out the window so stay clean and drive safe. Last year, there was an estimated death every 29 seconds due to DUI and this doesn’t paint a better picture. With different laws in the different states, you are liable to get branded as a high-risk individual and may even be denied insurance if you do apply for one.
